Acquisition and print inquiries
After the Fall is an original oil painting on panel measuring 8 × 10 inches (20 × 25 cm), created as part of the Italia Series and inspired by the historic ruins of Guardia Piemontese, Calabria. The composition weaves together architectural fragments—broken arches, fallen columns, and weathered stone—into a single, unified space that speaks to collapse, survival, and continuity.
Rather than depicting destruction itself, the work reflects on what remains afterward: stone bearing witness to history, memory embedded in architecture, and the quiet persistence of place. The ruins reference the 1561 massacre and the enduring resilience of the families who rebuilt the town, many of whose descendants still live there today. By merging multiple historical remnants into one imagined structure, the painting becomes both a memorial and a meditation on cultural endurance.
The restrained palette and careful handling of light emphasize texture and age, allowing the material presence of stone to carry the narrative. After the Fall invites contemplation of how history is preserved not only through records, but through the landscapes and structures that survive human conflict.
The original artwork remains in the artist’s private collection and is available for acquisition.
Fine art print options are also offered for collectors seeking a carefully produced reproduction that preserves the surface texture, tonal atmosphere, and architectural detail of the original work.
